Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy explains what The One Accountant does with the information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
When you complete a form on this site we collect your name, company name, mobile number, email address, the service you selected and anything you write in the message field. We also record the page the form was submitted from and, where present, the advertising campaign parameters in the page address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, gclid, fbclid). If you contact us on WhatsApp, the message content and your number are held in that conversation.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, and only with your agreement — see Cookies and tracking below. If you agree, they record standard technical information: approximate location derived from IP address, device type, browser, referring page and the pages you view, together with actions such as submitting a form or starting the free assessment. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally, and we do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google. If you refuse, neither one is loaded at all.
Documents you upload
The free assessment offers an optional trade licence upload. It is optional in the real sense — the assessment produces the same recommendation without it, and nothing is withheld if you skip it. If you do attach a licence, we use it only to confirm the details you typed and to quote more precisely.
Uploaded documents are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored by our website host alongside the rest of the submission. We delete them within 90 days unless you become a client, in which case the document moves into your client file and is kept under the retention terms of your engagement letter. You can ask us to delete an uploaded document sooner by emailing info@theoneaccountant.com, and we will confirm when it is done.
Please do not upload passports, Emirates ID copies, bank statements or anything else containing personal identification or financial data through this form. It is built for a trade licence. When we need those documents we will ask for them through a secure channel.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, prepare a proposal, and — if you become a client — to deliver the services you engage us for. We contact you about your enquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list without a separate opt-in, and every marketing message carries an unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
Your data is shared only with the service providers that make this site and our practice work: our form and email provider, our analytics provider, our accounting and practice-management software, and — where the engagement requires it — regulators such as the Federal Tax Authority, licensing authorities and banks, acting on your instruction. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted after 24 months. Client records are retained for the period required by UAE law, which for accounting and tax records is a minimum of seven years from the end of the relevant financial year, and five years for AML records after the relationship ends.
Your rights
Under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Write to info@theoneaccountant.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Cookies and tracking
Nothing optional runs on this site until you say so. On your first visit a banner asks, and until you answer it, no Google script is downloaded, no analytics cookie is written and no measurement request leaves your browser. That is not a setting we rely on Google to honour — the scripts are simply never fetched, which you can confirm for yourself in your browser's network tab.
There are three categories, and they are the three this site actually has:
| Category | What it is | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Your answer to the cookie banner, which offers you have closed, and the spam check on our forms. Stored in your own browser; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing follows you to another site. This is the one category you cannot switch off, because switching it off would mean forgetting that you switched it off. | Until you clear it |
| Analytics — optional | Google Analytics 4 (_ga and _ga_…). Counts visits and shows
which pages and services people read, in aggregate. We never send Google your name, email
address or phone number. |
Up to 2 years |
| Advertising — optional | Google Ads conversion measurement through Google Tag Manager (_gcl_au). Tells us
which advert led to an enquiry so we can stop paying for the ones that do not. No adverts are
sold or displayed on this site, and we do not build advertising profiles. |
About 90 days |
Changing your mind. Use Cookie settings here or at the foot of any page. It reopens the same panel, and withdrawing is one click in the same place as giving — which is the point: consent you cannot take back was never consent. Refusing costs you nothing; every page, form and calculator on this site works identically either way.
We record your choice together with the date and the version of this policy it was given against. If we change what these tools do, the version changes and the banner asks again, because agreement to one description of the processing is not agreement to a different one.
You can of course also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use its tracking-prevention features. If you do, this banner may reappear, because the record of your choice is itself stored in the browser.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with providers that maintain industry-standard controls. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. Do not send passwords, full bank credentials or Emirates ID scans through the website contact form — we will tell you how to transfer those securely once an engagement begins.
